God Bless America.
I'm worried that my sore throat might be a tonsil infection, or something else that will either take several months to heal without treatment, or something that won't cure itself at all. I don't have health care, so this could develop into a real problem. I'm hoping it's just allergy related, but I'm scared. | | Friday, August 15th, 2008 | | 3:13 am |
Deep Thoughts (not featuring Jack Handy)
I really like Jack Russell terriers. I think the reason is because there's only three small dogs that can be considered "Guy Dogs" - Pugs, Jack Russell Terriers, and those little weiner dogs, and of the three, Jack Russells just seem to have the best personality, they're good looking animals, and they have the best portrayal on screen. Ernest P. Worrell's dog Rimshot, Stanley Ipkiss' (from The Mask) dog Max. They're just cool little dogs. | | Thursday, August 14th, 2008 | | 10:00 am |
Fun Fact!
The song "My Darling Clementine" is a very sad tale, if you've ever paid attention to the lyrics. It details the story of a Miner 49er, and his daughter. The daughter takes the ducks out to the river, and winds up drowning in the river. The father decides he can't live without her, so he decides to kill himself. The singer of the song was Clementine's lover, who decides that now that she's dead, he can move on to her more attractive little sister. The moral of the song teaches us that learning how to swim and learning CPR can save lives. | | Friday, January 11th, 2008 | | 6:39 am |
Woo.
After over a year, all of my stuff is out of my parents' house, and into my apartment. Most of it was garbage, and was thrown away. A good deal of it was stuff I don't need, and am trying to sell or give away. Some of it was stuff that I don't need, but would prefer to have. Very little of it was stuff I actually really wanted and would use. Some things still need to be gone through, like the three or four containers of various electronic equipment and wires, and two large tubs of books, magazines, and papers, but things are starting to show a semblance of order. It's kind of a good feeling. The goal is to have only as much stuff as fits in my van. Should I need to leave in a hurry, I want to get as much as possible into the van and take off in one trip (not including furniture). Given some time, we might realize that goal. A deep, sincere apology.
I'm sorry I woke you up this morning by doing dishes. It's unusual for me to do dishes as it is, since you do them most of the time, but I had to get some things done this morning before I go to work. I know you have to work too, so your schedule is pretty set, and all. Anyway, I know you would never do anything that wouldn't be mindful and respective of my sleep schedule, and you certainly wouldn't intentionally keep me up for an hour, throw things at me, and laugh about it with your girlfriend, so I should likewise be respectful when you're asleep. | | Saturday, October 6th, 2007 | | 7:59 am |
I'm in my own extended network.
Apparently, people on my "Friends" list are giving life updates, so it's my turn. I work two jobs, around 50+ hours a week, and I get one full day off. It's pretty rough, and I'd probably be making more money if I was putting in 50 hours at just one job, but I take what I can get, and try hard not to complain. I've made $1,000 in the last three weeks, and just saying that throws me off something fierce. I'm paying bills, I've started paying my rent, $250 is going to my credit card bill today. It certainly helps the self esteem, for a long time I was starting to feel like a loser. During the day, I work at the comic store. I feel I have no real need to explain my feelings about this. At night, I work overnight stock at a supermarket. I was originally hired to work in the bakery, something that was actually relevant to my career goal, and they screwed me out of it. So now I do overnight stock, which was a blessing in disguise. The hours are a lot better, or at least there's a lot more of them, and I'm fairly autonomous. My manager says "You're doing aisle 4 today" and I need no further instruction for the 8-9 hours I'm there. The other overnight guys are pretty cool, I don't hate anybody, and the job gets done. A long time ago I realized that the most I can really ask for is to like everything about the job, because I'll always hate the work, and I do. Good money, good hours, good people, and no management looking over my shoulder all night. But it's a dead-end job, because I'm not getting bakery experience. It'll suffice for now. In my (suddenly rare) free time, I usually end up finding somebody to play Magic with at the diner in town. We're regulars there at this point, there at least once a week for a couple of hours. I'm looking for some new players, we got a kid in today I met at the comic store, he had some pretty cool decks. Just getting tired of seeing the same cards on the table all the time. There's 9,000 unique Magic cards; let's see some more of them. I've also picked up the Legend of Zelda: the Phantom Hourglass for the DS. I play it most at work, during my breaks, and today I'll be playing it on the train ride down to Long Island. It pretty much rocks, and I like it a lot. I play Lunar Wars ( http://www.lunarwars.net/) once a day for about five-ten minutes. I enjoy it. Things with my girlfriend are going great. Two years last month. It's hard to fathom. I still remember the first time we got together, and then the two weeks I was gone on vacation to Maryland, wondering the whole time if, when I got back, we'd end up in a relationship and if it would go anywhere. She's really stuck with me through thick and thin (mostly thick) and she doesn't really know how much I appreciate it, if only because I can't find the right way to convey it. My sister recently turned sixteen, she's finally interesting. I find that I like spending time with her, and we're trying to make it a point to do something each week from now on. This week we saw Resident Evil (which was amazing). Next week, we have no official plan yet, but we'll probably just see another movie. It's nice. There really isn't much more of my life than that. Work, sleep, Magic, Zelda, Internet Moon Games, Patty, and my sister are all I really have time for anymore. And I'm okay with that. | | Wednesday, September 26th, 2007 | | 6:06 am |
35 Days Later
I get my first paycheck on Friday. I'll pay my rent for the first time in four months on Friday. I feel accomplished. | | Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007 | | 12:53 am |

It's been nice knowing you.
It's been nice knowing all of you, but I have to die. This horrible chest cold is getting worse, and I am going to die from it. I'm never going to get better, and I can feel myself slipping away slowly. Seriously, being sick sucks so very, very much. | | Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007 | | 9:02 pm |

This is your captain speaking.
I am tired. It is late, and I am tired. I work a lot. I work at my restaurant. I had another job, but I quit that job because I didn't like it. I had pizza for dinner. It was good. I like eating pizza. I have a new turtle friend. We rescued him from being run over by a car. His name is Clyde and he is an Eastern Painted Turtle. However, this is a misnomer, as he is not actually a turtle, but is, in fact, a terrapin. Terrapins are members of the turtle family and are the creatures most commonly mistaken for turtles. True turtles are the sea turtles, the ones with fin-like legs. Terrapins have claws, and tortoises have stubby elephant feet. Tomorrow we are taking him to the vet, to determine if he is healthy and will survive. For now we are feeding him steak and making him comfortable in his new plastic house. My LARP is coming up soon, and I am looking forward to it. I think this year I'll be less lazy than I was last year, because last year I was pretty lazy and didn't write very much. I miss many of my old friends and I wish I talked to them more. I think I will make an effort at reaching them. I am going to sit down and watch a movie now. John purchased the Riddick trilogy, and we are going to watch it right now. Tomorrow I have an appointment at 2:00pm to sign up for college classes. I'm going to try and take Wilderness Survival, to be more like my hero, Survivor Man. Okay. | | Friday, April 6th, 2007 | | 9:52 pm |

Reality Television
I hope anyone who was involved in the making of "I Love New York" and anyone who enjoys it dies a horrible death. | | Saturday, February 3rd, 2007 | | 4:32 am |
This is an important update.
For a very long time, we have argued over the superiority of the Middletown Wal-Mart vs. the Monroe Wal-Mart. Namely, which is closer. I contested that Middletown was closer, Bill argued that Monroe was. I looked it up. From my house, both of these places are exactly 10.59 miles away. They are equidistant, give or take 26.4 feet. What an amusing coincidence. | | Sunday, December 24th, 2006 | | 1:01 am |

Legal stuff.
I hope Santa really is real, and just biding his time. By the time he shows up, he'll be able to sue just about every company in America for using his image for personal gain without consent. | | Saturday, December 16th, 2006 | | 12:39 am |
Final Fantasy III?
Hey guys. I just picked up FFIII and as it turns out, in order to get the really really good stuff, I need to send letters over the "MogNet" to other people. Do you people have FFIII, and if so, what is your "friend code" that I might send you letters. P.S. My friend code is 012971414690. |
