I really like Jack Russell terriers. I think the reason is because there's only three small dogs that can be considered "Guy Dogs" - Pugs, Jack Russell Terriers, and those little weiner dogs, and of the three, Jack Russells just seem to have the best personality, they're good looking animals, and they have the best portrayal on screen. Ernest P. Worrell's dog Rimshot, Stanley Ipkiss' (from The Mask) dog Max. They're just cool little dogs.

The song "My Darling Clementine" is a very sad tale, if you've ever paid attention to the lyrics. It details the story of a Miner 49er, and his daughter. The daughter takes the ducks out to the river, and winds up drowning in the river. The father decides he can't live without her, so he decides to kill himself. The singer of the song was Clementine's lover, who decides that now that she's dead, he can move on to her more attractive little sister. The moral of the song teaches us that learning how to swim and learning CPR can save lives.

It's kind of a good feeling. The goal is to have only as much stuff as fits in my van. Should I need to leave in a hurry, I want to get as much as possible into the van and take off in one trip (not including furniture). Given some time, we might realize that goal.

Anyway, I know you would never do anything that wouldn't be mindful and respective of my sleep schedule, and you certainly wouldn't intentionally keep me up for an hour, throw things at me, and laugh about it with your girlfriend, so I should likewise be respectful when you're asleep.

Apparently, people on my "Friends" list are giving life updates, so it's my turn.

I work two jobs, around 50+ hours a week, and I get one full day off. It's pretty rough, and I'd probably be making more money if I was putting in 50 hours at just one job, but I take what I can get, and try hard not to complain. I've made $1,000 in the last three weeks, and just saying that throws me off something fierce. I'm paying bills, I've started paying my rent, $250 is going to my credit card bill today. It certainly helps the self esteem, for a long time I was starting to feel like a loser.

During the day, I work at the comic store. I feel I have no real need to explain my feelings about this.

At night, I work overnight stock at a supermarket. I was originally hired to work in the bakery, something that was actually relevant to my career goal, and they screwed me out of it. So now I do overnight stock, which was a blessing in disguise. The hours are a lot better, or at least there's a lot more of them, and I'm fairly autonomous. My manager says "You're doing aisle 4 today" and I need no further instruction for the 8-9 hours I'm there. The other overnight guys are pretty cool, I don't hate anybody, and the job gets done. A long time ago I realized that the most I can really ask for is to like everything about the job, because I'll always hate the work, and I do. Good money, good hours, good people, and no management looking over my shoulder all night. But it's a dead-end job, because I'm not getting bakery experience. It'll suffice for now.

In my (suddenly rare) free time, I usually end up finding somebody to play Magic with at the diner in town. We're regulars there at this point, there at least once a week for a couple of hours. I'm looking for some new players, we got a kid in today I met at the comic store, he had some pretty cool decks. Just getting tired of seeing the same cards on the table all the time. There's 9,000 unique Magic cards; let's see some more of them.

I've also picked up the Legend of Zelda: the Phantom Hourglass for the DS. I play it most at work, during my breaks, and today I'll be playing it on the train ride down to Long Island. It pretty much rocks, and I like it a lot.

I play Lunar Wars (http://www.lunarwars.net/) once a day for about five-ten minutes. I enjoy it.

Things with my girlfriend are going great. Two years last month. It's hard to fathom. I still remember the first time we got together, and then the two weeks I was gone on vacation to Maryland, wondering the whole time if, when I got back, we'd end up in a relationship and if it would go anywhere. She's really stuck with me through thick and thin (mostly thick) and she doesn't really know how much I appreciate it, if only because I can't find the right way to convey it.

My sister recently turned sixteen, she's finally interesting. I find that I like spending time with her, and we're trying to make it a point to do something each week from now on. This week we saw Resident Evil (which was amazing). Next week, we have no official plan yet, but we'll probably just see another movie. It's nice.

There really isn't much more of my life than that. Work, sleep, Magic, Zelda, Internet Moon Games, Patty, and my sister are all I really have time for anymore.

And I'm okay with that.

We rescued him from being run over by a car. His name is Clyde and he is an Eastern Painted Turtle. However, this is a misnomer, as he is not actually a turtle, but is, in fact, a terrapin. Terrapins are members of the turtle family and are the creatures most commonly mistaken for turtles. True turtles are the sea turtles, the ones with fin-like legs. Terrapins have claws, and tortoises have stubby elephant feet. Tomorrow we are taking him to the vet, to determine if he is healthy and will survive. For now we are feeding him steak and making him comfortable in his new plastic house.

My LARP is coming up soon, and I am looking forward to it.
So, my job at the deli is going well.

I got a promotion. I'm now the official baker. I requested the official title "The Bakinator."

I got a raise, and a set schedule. I now work 16 hours a week and make $175 a week, plus commission (to be determined at a later date).

I'm really happy. I'm going to work really hard and make sure I do a good job.

Another long day at the office.

I somehow managed to make $65 less than I thought I was going to this week.

$15 is pretty simple. My first paycheck at the Haunted House was for $60, so when I worked an extra day, I thought my pay would go up. Silly me, I wasn't aware that that paycheck included two hours of training, so with the half-day, it came out to the same amount of time.

The other $50 is ridiculous. I was supposed to bag five newspaper routes this weekend and make $70.

Saturday morning I bag Steve's route, get paid my $20. Everything went smoooth. Then I go to bag Donna's route, and this kid Steven (not the same guy) is already bagging her. "I've got it covered," he says. She comes inside and sees him bag. I was pissed, because she was the one who got me to come back in the first place! This morning she explained to me that Steven was trying to undercut me, and Donna turned him down, but he went ahead and bagged the route anyway. She explained to me that she'll have it straightened out by next week, but there was some confusion because she was without her cell phone for a few weeks.

Steven has some sort of problem with me that I can't figure out. I've never even really talked to him and he hates me. I don't get it.

Anyway, Chuck's route was my fault, actually. Today was Daylight Savings Day, and since the depot opens at 2am, I figured "okay, no problem, I'm sure they'll take that into account, I don't have to be in until actual 2am." Silly me, I should have remembered the old axiom about assumptions. I walk in, and he says "Oh, you finally decided to show up." "..It's 2:30." "No, it's 3:30." "No, it's really not." "Oh, you didn't get the memo?" For once, somebody used that line on me and it was actually appropriate. There was in fact a memo and I did not, in fact, get it. Add this to the fact that somebody took my sign off the wall last week (that had my phone number on it), and I wasn't making it on time.

Finally, I was supposed to bag Bruce, but after Mary Kay had a "talk" with him, he suddenly didn't need me anymore. I suspect she might have talked him out of it.

Most of this confusion will be taken care of by next week, but I genuinely feel like some of these people are working against me, and I don't know why. I don't want this, I don't need this, and I don't deserve this. I try too hard to find work, I show up on time (excluding things like today), and I try to live a life free of drama. We all like to say we're adults, but why is it that I can't ever find a job where anybody acts like one?

Didn't get paid this week. Kind of depressing.

On the other hand, this week I'll pull in about $75 at the Haunted House, working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, as "Jim the Dock Worker, Mm, Yeah..." I've also had several people dedicate to letting me bag for them, so that should be another $70, and this morning, at 7am, I start working for Bagel & Fare again, at their new location. So next week, I'm hoping to bring in about $200, which is... $200 more than I've made since July.

Time to get three hours of bad sleep and get up and work! Woo!

The trip down memory lane was... depressing.

I'm exhausted, sick, and tired.

Tomorrow I have gym class, math, and work.
